Late summer nights in Chelsea
From concerts to plays, art to shopping– explore what’s on in Chelsea in the evenings
A little culture
For a night to remember, visit Cadogan Hall, located just around the corner from Colbert. This renowned venue hosts some of London’s most talented musicians, offering a diverse range of performances spanning from choral singing to jazz and blues. Upcoming shows include a performance celebrating Whitney Houston, ‘Whitney – Queen Of The Night, as well as ‘Mozart Requiem’ performed by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and Brighton Festival Chorus and ‘Kensington Symphony Orchestra’ performing Sibelius, Maw and Tchaikovsky.
Located right beside us, the Royal Court Theatre’s latest production ‘Hope has a Happy Meal’ follows Hope on a surreal and frenetic quest through a hyper-capitalist country. This season also features ‘all of it’ – three short plays about women whose ordinary lives mask extraordinary internal worlds – and ‘Cuckoo’, a dark comedy from Olivier and BAFTA Award-winning playwright, Michael Wynne.
Whether you’re an occasional art lover or a regular visitor, the Saatchi Gallery showcases the best of contemporary art. Explore the ‘Love and Charity: A History of Giving in the NHS’ exhibition celebrating the invaluable support of charities to the NHS on its 75th anniversary, and the thought-provoking ‘CIVILIZATION: The Way We Live Now’, which delves into the profound impact of humanity on planet Earth.
Late night shopping
Now that the days are longer and the weather has improved, you can enjoy a warm summer evening strolling along the charming streets of Chelsea and perhaps indulge in a little retail therapy. From the freshest produce at The General Store, which stays open until 10pm, to the newly opened Rixo on King’s Road which not only has a wide selection of vintage-inspired dresses but also features the acclaimed Smokey Kudo bar inside, open until 7pm Thursdays to Saturdays. After your meal, if you’re in the mood for something sweet, why not treat yourself to a scoop of ice cream from Amorino or Venchi? Both stay open past 10pm.
And of course, should you wish to have a light bite post theatre or shopping, then Colbert is located right on Sloane Square, book your table here.
